The Apple iPad Air could be one of the fastest selling tablet models in the United Kingdom; but it is apparently not the fastest. According to a British technology magazine, the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 manages to come out on top in benchmark result.
Although the iPad Air is obviously no slouch, it has to finish in second. The magazine performed a comprehensive speed test that involves eight different t tablet models; including the Retina-capable Apple iPad Mini, Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 and Google Nexus 7.
Geekbench is the tool used as scoring system, which tests the processing capability of different tablet models. It runs the slates through a series of tasks that average users might perform. Using different categories, the software ranks the tablets accordingly based on specific scores.
Today, Samsung already cuts deep into Apple share in the tablet market and the company is gaining, but Apple is still seen a dominant force. The Google Nexus 7 comes in third place and the tablet destroys its fiercest rival, the Retina-capable iPad Mini. The former received a score of 2675 points and the latter finished with 2512 points. It should also be noted that the Google Nexus 7 is also cheaper than Apple’s compact tablet.
