Users of WiFi-only Sony Xperia Tablet Z should no longer need to be envious of those with the more capable 3G version of the tablet. The Android 4.3 update has previously arrived to the Xperia Tablet Z 3G and it is now available to the more affordable WiFi-only version.
The 10.4.B.0.577 firmware is now available for the SGP312 and SGP11 models. However, users in the UK would need to sync their slates to the PC and open the PC Companion software, since Sony doesn’t distribute the software over the air. The update is quite large, at nearly 800MB and it includes major enhancements, including a new home launcher. Users should get a homescreen interface similar to the one we see one the Xperia Z1 smartphone.
The new battery stamina mode allows users to boost the standby time to more than 400 percent. There are also supports for the “Xperia Theme” and Sony Smart Social camera. Restricted profiles can now be enabled on units with multiple users and the tablet could open and manage small apps more smoothly. Unfortunately for some users; Sony removes specific app shortcuts that could potentially be helpful.
