FCC has recently certified a couple of new tablets from Lenovo, the A5500 and A7600. Again, the agency didn’t give us enough information about them. However, we heard that the Lenovo A5500 comes with an 8-inch (800 x 1280) IPS display, 1.3GHz MediaTek quad-core processor, 8Mp rear-facing camera and Dolby Mobile sound. The GFXbench benchmarking tool also confirmed that the tablet has a 1280 x 800 display, 1.3GHz processor of an unknown model and Jelly Bean Android 4.2.2 operating system.
The Lenovo A7600 is no bigger than the A5500; it has the same display size, but higher screen resolution. Although we couldn’t be too sure of anything at this stage; it is likely that A7600 will also use Android OS. Models certified by FCC are equipped with only WiFi connection, however similar tablets in China could also make voice calls and have built-in 3G connectivity. It is also possible that the A5500 and A7600 are new IdeaTab models; which will join the IdeaPad A3000 and IdeaPad A1000.
There’s no word on the actual release date, but they are likely to arrive quite soon. However, an appearance on FCC in the United States, also often indicates an arrival in the United Kingdom.
