First 4G-Capable Surface Tablet Could Soon Be Available in the UK

Surface TabletNew document from FCC may hint the upcoming arrival for 4G-capable Surface tablet in the United Kingdom and the rest of the world for the first time ever. It is stated that the tablet runs the ARM-based Windows RT 8.1 operating system. This would immediately suggest that the tablet is likely not from Surface Pro lineup. Another possibility is that the tablet is actually a 4G variant of the Surface 2 Tablet.

The Microsoft Surface 2 tablet in its original hardware configuration is equipped with 10.6-inch Full HD display and Nvidia Tegra 4 quad-core processor. The tablet also has 64GB of internal storage and 2GB of RAM. It should be noted that the tablet won’t be the first Windows RT device with LTE capability, since the RT-based Nokia Lumia 2520 also offers the same feature. Windows RT is less versatile than the full-fledged Windows 8 OS, but it is more optimized for touch-only interactivity. Fewer available apps are also a problem for some users.

The WiFi-only Microsoft Surface 2 is currently available starting from £359 in the United Kingdom. It isn’t clear how much the 4G-capable tablet would cost, but it would surely noticeably higher.
